The Fall is coming and with it comes cooler days, cooler nights, beautiful colors and above all …. “Fall’s Finest Festival” … the COOSA VALLEY FAIR. The members of the Coosa Valley Fair Association and the Rome Exchange Club are hard at work preparing for you to have all the thrills you’ve come to enjoy over the years. The Coosa Valley Fair has plenty to enjoy regardless of whether you are young or young at heart. Wade Shows, the nation’s largest carnival provider, will bring close to 40 rides and a host of challenging games. Wade shows is known for their safe and exciting rides which thrill both young and old. Once again Camp Carousel Petting Zoo will be located in the livestock area and Michael Frisbee, magician and comedian, will entertain visitors to the Village Building. This year’s feature shows include Jurassic Park Dinosaur Adventure and the Space Adventure Thrill Show. Times vary for each event so be sure to check the current schedules when you arrive at the Fairgrounds. Both Rome City and Floyd County Schools will provide art and pottery to be displayed along with the local talent of our amateurs and professionals in the Art and Photography Building. Everyone in Northwest Georgia is encouraged to submit for a chance to win ribbons and cash prizes. Our Community Building is always filled to the brim with local talents displaying their wares and also competing for ribbons cash premiums. The building will come alive with colorful flowers, canned goods, baked goods, local vegetables, quilts, garments, and
toys all handiwork of your friends and neighbors The Special Events building will come to life Tuesday night with the sounds of the spirit competition from local school cheerleaders and students as they compete for the best spirit award. After Tuesday the Special Events Building will feature the beauty of local young ladies as they compete the rest of the week in various Pageants which has a place for all age contestants. Along with our magician the Village Building will be filled with local vendors displaying a variety of goods and services which you can take advantage of in our area.

You are sure to enjoy yourself with each of these opportunities. So, after you have enjoyed the rides and tested your skills with the games what’s left for you? FAIR FOOD! You’ll want to overindulge in all your favorites … especially cotton candy, candy apples and funnel cakes!

We haven’t forgotten, we began and continue to be an Agriculture Fair at heart. We are making a change this year which we believe will greatly improve our Livestock Shows whether you are competing or a spectator. The Livestock Shows will be held on Saturday and Sunday, September 30th and October 1st . This will give the public a better opportunity to see the shows and the competitors a chance to show with less stress on moving their animals to Perry for the State Show. Another benefit for the spectators is no admission fee will be charged on these two days so come and enjoy.

On behalf of the entire Coosa Valley Fair Association and the Exchange Club of Rome I would like to personally invite you to this year’s Fair which begins on October 3rd and runs through October 7th . Bring your family, join your friends and neighbors, and enjoy the rides, games, exhibits, entertainment and food at the 74th Annual Coosa Valley Fair.
