From the President

With the changing of the season just around the corner Northwest Georgia always prepares for Fall’s Finest Festival – The Coosa Valley Fair.  This year promises to be the best ever with exciting new rides and special entertainment sure to please everyone whether young or old.

Once again this year Wade shows, the premier carnival provider in the United States, will host our ride section which will certainly provide thrills for all ages as well as games which will challenge your every skill.  Our Community and Art Buildings will showcase every type of talent our local craftsmen, photographers and artists can imagine.  Add to these the local flowers, canning, vegetables and cakes our neighbors bring to compete and you see why we have the greatest Fair imaginable.  But we don’t stop there.  We are bringing in new special entertainment which is sure to please all.  We will have a Butterfly Encounter where our patrons can feed our winged friends and even carry one home to watch it progress through its life stages.  There will be a pedal tractor race where our young patrons can compete for prizes.  We are also bringing in a local chainsaw carving artist to amaze us with his awesome sculptures.  This year the Floyd County Sherriff’s office will feature an “escape house” where clues must be solved in order to find your way out.  The Village Building will be packed with local businesses showing off their specialties.  Our Special Events will feature a variety of Miss to Senior Miss competitions as well as the Miss Coosa Valley Fair Pageant.  Tuesday will bring the spirt contest from local cheerleading squads so be sure to show up and scream for your favorites.  Couple all this with the petting zoo, the livestock and the wonderful “fair food” and you can see the Coosa Valley Fair is second to none.

The Coosa Valley Fair Association and the Exchange Club of Rome are excited about this year’s Fair which we are proud to say is our 69th year.  As always, our proceeds go to support numerous local charities and especially our favorite …. The Exchange Club Family Resource Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.  With your help we can work together to overcome child abuse and provide a safe happy environment for our youngsters.  We hope you will join with us at the Fair and have some real, old fashion family fun.
